FAQs

How long is a session and how often will I see you?
Sessions are 53 minutes long, which is the standard for most therapy appointments. However, longer 75-minute sessions are also available if you're interested in EMDR therapy, trauma processing, or want extra time to dive deeper into performance mindset work.
Frequency depends on your unique goals. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions for consistency and momentum, while others choose bi-weekly or monthly check-ins as they make progress. We’ll collaborate on a schedule that fits your needs, goals, and lifestyle.

How do I make an appointment?
Booking a therapy session is simple. You can schedule an appointment in any of the following ways:
Text me directly at 469-677-7819
Email me at therapyloungegroup@gmail.com
Whether you're interested in EMDR therapy, sports psychology, or therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, etc. I’ll help you find a time that works best for your schedule. If you’re a new client, I’ll send you intake forms before our first session.
-
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I currently accept Aetna, UMR, Oscar, Optum and UnitedHealthcare insurance plans for therapy services.
I can complete an eligibility check prior to our first session to ensure I am an in-network provider under your plan.
If you're not covered by these providers, I can still work with you as an out-of-network provider. Many clients with out-of-network benefits are able to get partial reimbursement for sessions. I’m happy to provide a superbill (a detailed invoice) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept a variety of convenient payment methods to make sessions as stress-free as possible. These include:
Credit and debit cards
HSA/FSA cards (cash pay clients only)

What can I expect during a therapy session?
First things first — you don’t have to lay on a couch and spill your deepest secrets in session one (unless you want to). Therapy with me is collaborative, goal-oriented, and tailored to what you need that day — whether that’s processing trauma, building coping strategies, or just surviving a high-pressure week.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you in, what’s been going on lately, and what goals you’d like to work on. I’ll ask questions to get a feel for your story, your stressors, and what you’ve already tried. From there, we’ll make a game plan together — this is your space, your pace.
Expect a mix of deep insight, practical tools, and maybe a few well-timed jokes (laughter can be healing too). Whether we’re doing EMDR therapy, performance mindset coaching, or trauma recovery, I’m here to help you get unstuck and start moving forward.

How do I choose the right therapist for me?
Think of choosing a therapist like finding the right partner, trainer, or even a pair of shoes — fit matters. You want someone who gets your goals, challenges, and communication style, and who makes you feel safe, seen, and not judged (even on your messiest days).
Start by asking:
Do they specialize in what I’m struggling with (trauma, anxiety, performance, burnout)?Do I feel like I could be honest with them — even if it’s uncomfortable?
Do their approach and vibe match what I’m looking for (direct, warm, structured, goal-focused, etc.)?
Still not sure? I offer a quick consult so we can see if it’s a good match — no pressure.
